The contest is aimed at a wide variety of students from Accelerated Primary 4 (GEP) Sec 2 and for children up to aged 14.5 years.

Contest Format
Students have to complete 25 multiple-choice-questions within 40 minutes. NO penalties for wrong answers. NO calculator is allowed.

Awards for AMC8
1. Certificate of Distinction is awarded to all students who receive a perfect score. Awards will be given to the perfect score winner.
2. The top three students for each school will receive respectively First Place, Second Place or Third Place certificate for outstanding achievement.
3. AMC8 Honor Roll of Distinction certificate is awarded to the top 1% of students. (In 2024, score>22)
4. AMC8 Honor Roll is awarded to the top 5% of high scoring students. (In 2024, score of>/= 18)
5. AMC8 Certificate of Achievement is awarded to students in Grade 6/Primary 6 and below for their outstanding performance. (In 2024, score of>/= 15/25)
6. AMC8 Certificate of Participation (E-copy) is awarded to al students who have participated in the AMC 8 Competition.
7. AMC8 School Certificate of Merit is awarded to all schools with a team score of 50 or more. The team score is tabulated based on the combined score of the top 3 students.
8. AMC8 School Certificate of Honor is awarded to all schools with a team score of 66 or more. The team score is tabulated based on the combined score of the top 3 students.

- What is the date of the AMC 8 Competition Y2024>>23rd Jan 2025( Thu)
- How many questions are there in the AMC 8?
- >>25 MCQ questions. Choose the most suitable answer from A to E.
- How much time am I given for the test?>> 40 minutes, which basically means you have 1.5 min per question
- What is the passing mark?>> There is essentially no passing mark. It goes by the median score of the entire cohort. The median score for 2024 was 9 out of 25
- What topics will be on the AMC 8?>> Please refer to Contest format above for the scope of topics
- Where is the AMC 8 conducted?>> For Open category participants it will be conducted online. The test will open from 5pm through 10pm on 23 Jan 2025. Contestants can login anytime from 5pm-8:20pm at any convenient 40-min time slot. The test will be submitted automatically once the time is up.
- When will I receive the contest link ?>> Contest links will be emailed to you 3 days before the contest.Mock Test links will be emailed to you from 12 Jan -15 Jan 2025.
- Will you accept registrations after 10 Jan 2024? >>We regret to inform you that we will not be able to accept registrations after 10th Jan 2025. Please register early for the AMC 8 Y2025.
- When will results be out for AMC 8 Y2025>>We aim to send you the scores within 6-8 weeks after the conclusion of the competition.E-certificates of Participation will be email to you within 2 weeks after the end of the competition.
