- Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Union (AIMO Union) is a collaborative international organization among mathematical research organisations and individuals.
- It is the mission of AIMO Union to provide teenagers with an international platform for the purposes of learning Mathematics, cultural exchange, intriguing their mathematical insights, improving their qualities of scientific thinking minds and hence enhancing the friendship and cooperation of teenagers from different countries/regions.
- From 2012, we have been holding AIMO Open together with worldwide top mathematical institutions. For the last years, AIMO Open has been successfully concluded (2012 Hong Kong, 2013 Taiwan, 2014 Chengdu, China, 2015 Thailand, 2016 Hong Kong, 2017 Malaysia, 2018 Thailand, 2019 Taiwan, 2020 & 2021 Online due to pandemic).
- The number of students participating in AIMO Open keeps increasing. In the recent years, happy learning and diversity learning are emphasized.
- Through the various challenges in the AIMO Finals participants gain different cognitive learning skills such as shape, logic, space and numbers can be developed. Students with higher reading ability get benefit in traditional Mathematics teaching, but all talented students with different strengths can explore their mathematical potential through the AIMO Finals 2025 and make friends with like-minded peers.
- Through the AIMO Open,the AIMO Union is willing to scout for more Mathematics talents and further promote a quality Mathematics education and interaction.
AIMO Finals 2025
(Final Global Round)
Finals will be held in the Capital City of Japan from
3-6 August 2025
Students: Grade 3 to Grade 12 (2025-26)
Eligibility: Get gold, silver or bronze honour award in local trial round of 2025-26 AIMO Open/HXC Cup or you have been invited for the recent
American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME) or scored among the top 5% in thr AMC 8/10/12.
10 groups in total (G3 to G9 and GSS)
G3 – G9 corresponds to grade 3 to 9/Primary 3-Secondary 3 respectively
Grade 10 – 12 are grouped as Senior Secondary (GSS)

Exam Format
Section A: 12 questions, 3 marks each
Section B: 10 questions, 5 marks each
Section C: 8 questions, 8 marks each
Total 30 questions, 150 marks
Language: In English
AIMO Finals will be held in a different country.

- Gold honor : Top 10% of students
- Silver honor: Next 20% of students
- Bronze honor: Next 30% of students
- Champion: The 1st student in each group
- First runner-up: The 2nd student in each group
- Second runner-up: The 3rd student in each group
- National star: The top student in each country/region
- * Awarding certificates and medals will be given to students with gold, silver and bronze honors. * Trophy cups will be given to champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and national star. * The exact awarding percentage will be slightly adjusted in the event of ties in scores. Students born later will be given the preference for awards when they have the same scores. All the awarding is as per global percentile scores.

It is the mission of AIMO Union to provide teenagers with an international platform for the purposes of learning mathematics, cultural exchange, intriguing their mathematical insights, improving their qualities of scientific thinking minds and hence enhancing the friendship and cooperation of Asian teenagers of different countries.
Up to present, AIMO Union has already established Secretariats in countries such as Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey.
