7th International Mathematics Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA)

 IMOYA has at the following objectives:
  • Strengthen the mathematical intuition and computational skills of the students to work independently and
    collaboratively.
  • Provide an in-depth mathematical experience for the enrichment of the students’ reasoning ability and creative
    thinking skill to solve challenging mathematics problems.
  • Develop speed and precision in data gathering to enhance measurement and problem-solving skill.
  •  Promote cross cultural interaction espousing camaraderie, understanding and respect for diversity.

The International Math Open for Young Achiever 2025 is open to 

Contest Categories
Lower Primary (Grades 1 and 2),
Middle Primary (Grades 3 and 4),
Upper Primary (Grades 5 and 6),

Junior High School (Grades 7 and 8),
Intermediate Level (Grades 9 and 10) and
Senior High School (Grades 11 and 12).

Each participating country should send at least two teams of five (5) students each of which the composition for each division may be entirely coming from the same year level or a combination of both levels forming team members. There is no limit in the number of teams for each division that an interested country-wishes to send.

Information about the contest 

Rationale:
The International Mathematics Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA), hosted by the Skillshare based in Singapore, can be a fundamental step where students become intuitively aware, conceptualized to arrange and recall information as they work individually or as a team utilizing their experience, knowledge and skill to solve mathematics problems. This contest engages students to a math exploratory activity which centers on relating math to the real world, making students active learners and giving them sense of achievement. The content standards in this competition are developmentally appropriate for students in the level they are participants in. The learning goal of communicating is demonstrated by students as they confront problems, translate information, and relay their findings may be orally and in writing, or both in the course of working individually or collaboratively. The working on teams’ goal is apparent as students share ideas, develop and coordinate group approaches, and learn from each other during the math activities. The IMOYA enables students to learn the tools, language, and the ways of thinking to make connections across disciplines. It provides them the opportunity to identity exploration like learning who they are, how they learn, and what they can do with their math skills duringproblem solving activity, can be the first step in connecting themselves with the global community.

The Official Organizer of the Event: B&L Pte Ltd
Pre-Registered & Collection of ID Tags for All Participants & Companions will start at 1000hrs of 25 October 2025 onward to Parkroyal on Kitchener Road. Please contact the organizer to pre-arrange collection. Upon Making FULL Payment, Official Receipt will be issued to individual countries (Countries Representatives can collect from their teams). For Countries using the Official Organizer for the Accommodations or Transportationduring their stay in Singapore, ID Tags will be issued upon Arrival & Payment can be made at the School on the Examination Day.


Participants:
The contest is open to students from these divisions: Lower Primary (Grades 1 and 2), Middle Primary (Grades 3 and 4), Upper Primary (Grades5 and 6), Junior High School (Grades 7 and 8), Intermediate Level (Grades 9 and 10) and Senior High School (Grades 11 and 12).

Competition Scope
Lower Primary(Pri 1-2/Grade 1-2)
– Sets, Whole Numbers, Fractions, Problem Solving Strategies, Geometric Shapes, Perimeter and Area or Circumference, Data Handling, Recreational Math.

Middle Primary (Pri 3-4/Grade 3 -4)– Sets, Whole Numbers, Fractions, Exponents, Tessallations, Problem Solving Strategies, Ratio, Geometric Shapes, Measurement, Data Handling, Recreational Math.

Upper Primary (Primary 5-6/Grade 5-6) – Whole Numbers, Integers, Fractions, Number Theory, Decimals, Problem Solving Strategies, Exponents, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Geometry of 2D and 3D, Symmetry, Mensuration, Data Handling, Recreational Math.

Junior High School(Sec 1-2/Grade 7-8) – Sets of Real Numbers, Algebraic Expressions, Problem Solving Strategies, Polynomials and Properties of Exponents, Linear Equations/Inequalities in One Variable, Lines and Angles, Properties of Triangles, Congruence, Mensuration, Data Handling, and Recreational Math.

Intermediate(Sec 3-4/Grade 9-10) – Curriculum of Junior High School with System of Linear Equations/Inequalities, Special Products and Factoring, Rational Expressions, Problem Solving Strategies, Mensuration, Geometry of Circle, Data Handling and Probability, Recreational Math.

Senior High School(JC 1-2/Grade 11 & 12) – Curriculum of Junior and Intermediate High School with Polynomial Equations, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Circular/Trigonometric Functions, Problem Solving Strategies, Business Mathematics, Mensuration, Data Handling, Recreational Math.

 Details Strictly for Participants ONLY

Contest Date:
25 October 2025 (Saturday) 

Registration Fee:
SGD$250.00- shall be charged to each participant for the following: contest materials, medals and/or
certificates, one Bento Set Lunch on 25 March and Dinner on 26 March, rental fee for the venue of the contest proper and prize-giving ceremony.
SGD$220.00 - shall be charged to each accompanying person for attending the prize-giving ceremony with dinner.


Deadline of Confirmation/Registration:
Interested country must email its confirmation of participation on or before 8th October 2025 and should email enquiries to  
imoyainternational@gmail.com.

 Awarding Scheme

Medals:
Approximately 80% of the contestants will receive Individual Awards, in the form of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, approximately in the ratio 1: 2: 5.

Certificates:
All participants will receive an IMOYA 2025 certificate of participation.

Awarding Ceremony Schedule
26 October 2025-Award Ceremony is 1 day after the competition

>> English is the primary medium of instruction of all contest papers.
>> Participating countries that need to have their contest problems written in their respective language asidefrom
